Afternoon tea, City Cafe, Manchester
City Cafe has 2 for 1 offer for afternoon tea since the royal wedding. It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday afternoon that I set out with my friend to the Mint Hotel. We traveled on foot as the hotel was only a ten minutes walk from city centre. It is a stylish and pleasantly decorated restaurant, with standard tables and garden outside. We would love to sit in the garden if the weather wasn't that windy.
We ordered two set of afternoon tea which included 2 scones, 3 cakes and 4 pieces of sandwich. The quality and portions of food were really good, however it may have been a bit too sweet and they didn't let us chose the seletion of cakes. I ordered earl grey tea for drink, the tea was served in white glass and teapot. One of the best Earl Grey teas I've ever had, it's only second to a select few exotic Earl Greys. Very bold, great smell and taste.
It really is a lovely place. relaxing atmosphere and very classy, it was an enjoyable experience.
